I woke up early this morning to do some work. The work entailed going through the revised version of a paper I wrote that a collaborator sent back to me. And I got depressed. The paper is unrecognizable now as something I wrote and am not sure what to do about it. So I took the escapist route out, namely take a break and do other things. So I went to my feed reader to get caught up on my blog reading. On Born a Libran’s blog, in his response to a tag that is inspired by a sound of music song, I found the following cool videos. Could not resist embedding them here.
The first one is
The second one must qualify as the weirdest commercial I have seen in recent times.
And yesterday afternoon when I was similarly depressed about something else (another paper that I am writing and having the hardest time finding the right words) I decided to cook while watching some TV. So I made what must surely be the world’s best “Keeria Saambar” while watching Pulp Fiction on TV (with all the f*@#’s bleeped out of course). And so now I have a question for any fellow fans of the movie that stumble here. Do you remember the OD scene when they revive Mia? After the scene (which is in the video below), Mia tells Vincent the Ketchup Joke (not in the video). What is the point of the Joke here?
Hope you all had a better weekend than I did. More coherent posts later.

Ah.. was mildly and pleasantly surprised to see these videos here... Quentin Tarantino is kick ass crazy...
Oh BaL, If I had a little more patience, I would have waxed eloquent about what great taste you have on odds and ends...you have a brand new fan here you know..
I am honored to have a fan who can go on and on about biomechanics and thermodynamics... You should check out Scientific Curiosity as well... You do know that we welcome other bloggers to be a part of SC.. right?
BaL:Scientific curiosity is on my feed reader as well. I read what you guys wite up avidly...but as a contributor, will I fit though?
And about wheels and evolution : If you can come up with an iterative scheme compatible with random mutation and natural selection that results in a wheel, that will be something!
SC is open to different aspects of science/technology. In fact, I blog about Digital Photography, Stat Mech, and Biology (mostly evolution) all the time. We are a bit bio heavy but to be a real science blog, we would like to be working with diverse aspects of science. So, yes, you are welcome.
About the wheels, imagine a person running in a sprint. The legs move almost in an oval or a circle (if you stretch your imagination - chec out cartoon versions of running). So, yeah, it is our version of a wheel... maybe... :)
Ok, BaL, I see what you are saying. Let me think of something and then let you know and you can tell me if it is suitable for SC.
PS: Sorry for the delayed response..crazy day.
Take your time. If you could send your email id to bornalibran [at] gmail [dot] com, I will send you an invite to join the SC google group and also introduce you to the rest of the gang (you probably know most of them anyways).
Oh, BTW, liked the tag "Life, The Universe, and Everything" :) The posts were not as enlightening as 42 though:)
I know BaL, that is why you will find that no recent posts have been tagged that way, they are now called more appropriately, junk.
BTW: Will draft an email to you this weekend with a short intro to my background that you can forward to the other SC members to see if they like the idea of me writing for SC.
SC is open to anyone who wants to write there... No qualification reqd. Just send the email... I will send the invite after that...
