I have a suspicion that Vivek's post was a bit tongue-in-cheek. This is not to say that there arent people who dont love AV. And hate him. Comes with the territory of being famous.
(I guess you know you have really made it when you are regularly bashed.)

I don't love Amit Varma! Yeh sab jhooth hai.. opposition waalon ki saazish hai.. kya saboot hai aapke paas? ;-)
My post was tongue-in-cheek only to the extent that Amit's excuse was rather lame. Otherwise, I am all for his candidature. It will be good for him.
Just for clarification, the second sentence should be: "This is not to say that there arent people who do love AV."
@bongo : I did realize the tongue in cheek part, and even if I did n't, Mr. Kumar makes it clear below ....
